Are Immigrants’ Rights Human Rights?

Some truths should be obvious.

That no one should be punished for wanting a better life.
That a border shouldn’t decide a person’s worth.
That no human being should ever be considered “illegal.”

And yet, here we are.

People talk about immigrants like they are a separate species.
A problem to be solved. A threat to be contained.

But an immigrant is just a person—
A mother, a father, a worker, a student, a dreamer, a neighbor.

If human rights belong to all people—

Then why do some have to fight just to be seen as human?
