Not All Immigrants Are Good—Just Like Not All People Are

Some immigrants take advantage of the system.

That’s a fact. And we won’t deny it.

Some have lied, exploited loopholes, or used benefits they weren’t entitled to.
Some have committed crimes. Some have given people a reason to point and say, “See? I told you so.”

And we’re angry about it, too.

Because they made all of us look bad.
Because they became the excuse people use to judge the rest of us.
Because their actions overshadow the millions who work hard, follow the rules, and contribute more than they take.

But let’s be real: This isn’t an immigrant problem.

Some Americans take advantage of the system, too.
Some citizens commit crimes.
Some people, no matter where they were born, will always look for ways to cheat.

Because this isn’t about immigrants vs. Americans.

It’s about human nature.

And if we judged every group by its worst members—

None of us would look good.
